Those of us who are of the creative variety understand that we must express ourselves through art, or we may just want to kill somebody. I know it may seem extreme, but once you've poured out what has been ailing you, you feel 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 time better!
Its been times where I've wanted to slap the sh*t out of the next person with something slick to say, but then I place my anger into words on paper, and when I'm done that hostility disappears. Art is meant to reflect what the people have been going through during a certain time frame. I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of stories written, paintings painted, sculptures sculpted and photographs photographed on how this economic downfall has affected them and their family's lives.
I try to write about what I know, see, do, and hope for. And in the near future, I will create masterpieces, at least in my eyes, that will have people feeling hopeful for the future, and also show those who are from poverty or lower middle class neighborhoods that they too can make it if they go for what it is that they are passionate about.
We need the arts just as much as we need math, science and English because it allows a person to open up another part of the mind. It's another form of intelligence that needs to be exercised. If any form of expression isn't open, a people's imagination will die, thus allowing people to not think critically for themselves.
Art can move you. Art can inspire you. Art can force you to reflect on what it is you are doing as well. You know, once I tried not to listen to music for a week. No music what so ever, and guess what? I was angry and pissed off by the time the 3rd day came around.
Support the arts and life will always make sense.

The Fam'
I remember a rhyme the rapper Scarface said on The Fix album: "Ya family is your backbone your friends ain't sh*t". He said that to drill in the point that even if you don't have all the money in world or all the possessions you think you must have to feel rich, you still have the love of family.
Some family members, I'm sure you've heard the stories or has had their run in with crooked cousins and sorry a** aunts and uncles & biological parents. But for those who have your back, and are there for you always, you must be thankful and appreciative for having these people in your life.
I never had a silver spoon in my mouth growing up, but I have a mother, grandmother, three uncles and cousins (shout out to cousin Rose, Courtney, Deon, Kenny & Joel LOL) that were there in certain points in my life when I needed them most. I owe them the world in my eyes for some of what they've sacrificed for my siblings and I, but until then, all I can give them is a thank you.
During the holidays here, I didn't get mad gifts, but we had much love back then. Everyone of us used to go to the county fair here during those early years as one big family. Over the years it has wained, but the love and care we have for each other still remains.
In the end, no matter how many friends and associates you come across in life, those who are truly family will be there for you.

I am so COOL...COOL...COOL
Swagger...bravado...machismo. What do these words equal: Confidence.
Lacking confidence to me is to walk around with no balls. A man, or anybody rather, must be confident in everything they want to accomplish or else they will never get anywhere. You may have some bumps in the road, and a few slip ups here and there, but you keep on pushing no matter what.
You can never be a great leader if you are always second guessing yourself. If you constantly dwell on a problem from the past, then you will never see a brighter day. You will always remain in a particular limbo, forever a loser that will never learn to grow from each mishap. Those mistakes are meant to make you stronger, tougher and smarter than before, so embrace the mistake and keep it moving.
To constantly kick yourself is a sin in some circles, so for your mind, body and spirit, uplift yourself. Give yourself words of encouragement. Look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are the baddest mutha f*cka on the planet even if you are 5' 2"! If you are a guy, walk like you have a d*ck the size Seabiscuit. If you are a woman, then walk like your crotch can spin gold every time your period is on. And if you feel like a person who is trapped in another sexes body, well be the coolest whatever you are you can be!
For a while I lost my swag due to some set backs, but I constantly pep myself up. I constantly tell myself things over and over in a chant almost to push myself forward through these tough times. I am the eternal optimist and the world can eat a d*ck for all I care because you can't stop a man that has seen hell and back! You can't scare a man that was supposed to have died at least three times. You can't stop a man that was once considered a loser. You can't stop this freight train coming at you at bullet speed, so all you f*cks better run and hide. Fathers, lock up your daughters, husbands tuck your wives behind you and everyone else just hand cuff your broad because I'm back. Ready to kick a**, take names and piss on graves! Woo Ha!
If you're looking baby, I'm right here! Now let the games begin ::::}-D

Feeling The Burn
I just came back from the gym, and let me tell ya, things that I forgot hurt are on fire! LOL...A few years ago, I was a gym rat. I would be in there for an hour and a half easy and not notice it. Now that I'm on a quest to regain what I have lost physically, I realized how much work I used to put in.
Today, I'm around 208 to 204 lbs (the latter on a good day), but I'm trying to get down to around 181 to 187 lbs. When I first returned to my mission I was 224 lbs, so where I'm at now is an accomplishment but I want more. I want to get back to looking good naked. I want to feel alive again!
When you exercise, there's all kinds of chemicals in the brain, I won't get all specific, that are given off after you work out. When I finish, I'm chilling like a villain on a natural high. I feel like I just got done f*cking. I feel like a new man, especially when my body gets adjusted to my current workout regiment which will allow me to go even harder.
For now I feel winded, low on the gas tank, and feeling my few years ago self via mirror telling me "dude, you've gotten softer than pie crust", but still I push on. I know I will achieve my goal because I'll be damned if I'm gonna stop. And even when I achieve my goal, I will switch up my work out and go even harder because perfection is ever constant.
Working and eating right, when done properly can help you feel brand new. You feel like you can take on the world and can't nobody stop you! You feel like the baddest mofo on the planet, and who ever tells you otherwise is a got damn blasted liar. So for your health and swagger, work out and eat right for only good things can come from it. Just don't over do it because too much of anything can be bad, even exercise.

A Good Life
Many people define the Good Life as something money can buy. I want nice things like an awesome credit score and a great family to share my life with, but all of that comes with time. A lot of people want to get large amounts of money in the shortest amount of time possible. What they fail to realize is that the average age of a millionaire today is the mid 50's.
If you take away all the pro atheletes, entertainers, trust fund/old money handed down receivers and lottery winners, then who do you have? Men and women that busted their a** to get where they want to be. They lived within their means, stay focused on goals and was constant in their chase for success in their field of expertise. Money doesn't grow on trees but you must plant the seeds of a good life, and constantly water and feed this plant until the proverbial money tree is now your shade, especially on rainy days.
Always stay focused. The get rich or die trying mentality should be kept limited, for when you decide that getting money is all that matters, then you will do anything for a dollar, and that is no way for anyone to be living. Just picture a grown a** man dressed in women's clothes and punching babies with a smile saying "get money ya'll, get money!". You would be disturbed by that image wouldn't you? Well don't let money take over your best judgement. Work hard, use your brain and all things will come together.

A Good Life
Money ain't sh*t unless you have your health and the love of those close to you to share it with. Money can come in the greatest of abundance, but if you're a bedridden loner, then you've created a prison for yourself. You can go travel the world with the money, but can never leave the hotel. You can buy all kinds of materialistic stuff and not be able to show it off because of the fear of catching a sickness or being injured, with no one to be around because they care.
Think about it! My grandmother and mother has told me stories of how some people who were old and needed a home health aide would be angry and break things because the one they built that fortune with wasn't there anymore. Breaking expensive vases, and throwing remote controls at big screen televisions all because they are miserable and can't take it with them. They may pass those dollars over to their children and grand children, but in the end they become grumpy old farts with nothing else better to do than go crazy.
Many of us who are broke want a better life. But at what cost are you willing to sacrifice to get it? Get your money, but don't kill yourself chasing something that isn't really worth anything. Think about it...What if we were in a post apocalyptic world on some Mad Max sh*t? I bet you that money wouldn't mean a damn thing, especially over a good hunting knife and a source of clean water.
Don't treat money as if its the only thing you need, for trust me, it'll make you happy for a minute. But when the clock is counting down, and you're all alone, love will always be the greatest thing to comfort you.
Tell me if I'm lying?

That's Miss Diva to YOU!
To be blunt: I don't like Divas!
Women of today and those coming up within the ranks of womenhood have been brainwashed into thinking that being strong is being without compromise. I know that the mothers of these women either picked unworthy men or was in love with someone who wasn't mature enough to handle being in a family who decided to abandon the home. The latter you can show support to, but the first group not so much.
Ever since these little girls could first talk, the majority of them have always been told that "men aren't sh*t" or "can't lead" or "aren't on point". Many of them truly see us as little boys, even those of us who are on the verge or do have their sh*t together. And whats sad is that you have R&B songs, Pop songs, and Hip-Hop records that constantly scream "get a baller girl!" or "don't trust no man" or something to that accord, which only makes things even worse because now you have a catchy tune that drills these messages into their minds with Beyonce as the ring leader. And whats worse, if they do meet someone who is a get right man, then he's too weak or acts too nerdy or is too demanding *Sigh*.
To the women who know not to travel this lonely path, I thank you for being you. I thank you for knowing to love yourself before going out to love someone else. I thank you for understanding that the union of two people to form one entity comes with understanding, love, patients and most of all the ability to communicate with one another. Thank you for realizing that love and sex are two different things. Thank you for understanding that a marriage isn't a way to make a quick buck. Thank you for being friends to those of us that need an extra boost of encouragement. Thank you for knowing that it isn't all about you, and checking or leaving the men who think it is all about them. Thank you for knowing, even if a man isn't rich, but is a great and hard working person that he must have final say in what decisions are best for the family. Thank you for doing more listening than talking, and thank you for knowing what a man expects from a woman and not from a slave driving, trash talking b*tch on wheels that wouldn't know how to keep a man if they were given the instruction manual to do so.
Men and women must find even ground so we can walk together in prosperity, and not in disparity. Men need to stop acting like b*tches and handle your business, while women must stop being so "manish" or sinful, or else we will have more future generations of people sleeping around thinking that its just the way to be. The terms "baby daddy" & "baby mama" may one day replace "husband" & "wife" if we aren't careful. Then what will the kids coming after you will think? Exactly my point!
Down with punk a** men, and to the diva for they only care about themselves until they get too old, too fat or too busted to be marriage material.
Are you a diva? If so, STOP!
